| A classic Edinburgh elegant mahogany long-case with engraved silvered dial, strike/silent to arch and swan neck pediment.John Cleland was apprenticed in 1761 and made free in 1767. in 1772 he became a freeman of the Incorporation of Hammermen and a burgess of Edinburgh in 1775. Died before 1785. There is a watch by him in the Antiquaries of Scotland Museum . Height 87 inches. Width 18 inches. Depth 10 inches. |
